Irish Smokers turn to Snuff
According to a recent report in the Irish Independent the number of people turning to snuff has risen considerably since the introduction of the smoking ban in Ireland, which came into force in March 2004.
Many reports indicate that the pub and restaurant trade has been severly hit by the smoking ban in Ireland, but maybe now smokers are gradually returning to the pubs armed with supplies of snuff instead.
In a recent article in the Irish Independent the managing Director of McChrystal's reported that "Sales have gone up by between 15 and 20pc in the last two years, and that ties in approximately to when the smoking ban was introduced"
He also backed up what we have been noticing recently that the demographic of snuffers is changing now to become a lot more evenly spread as many more younger people, particular smokers or ex-smokers are switching to snuff.
